Billionaires throw Texas Tea Party

Sunday, May 22, 2005

Saturday, June 4, 3pm (World Environment Day)
South Street Seaport, between Piers 15-16

In 1773, a small band of patriots held a Tea Party because they didn't like the way the monarchy was spending their tax money. Join New York's modern-day patriots, Greene Dragon, in reviving this tradition on the eve of World Environment Day. Faced with the economic, environmental, and political costs of oil dependence, the patriots need your help in defeating the Billionaires for Bush at our historic Texas Tea Party. We will challenge these evil energy tyrants head on. Just like the original Boston Tea Party, this historic event aims to set forth a new stage in our history, one where we move beyond oil and other dirty fuels, creating a sustainable future for our children with renewable energy. (Note: no actual oil will be spilled in these reenactments)

Subways J, M, Z, 2,3,4 to Fulton St; A, C to Broadway-Nassau. Walk east to waterfront, Pier 16

For more details on the event, visit Greene Dragon's web site.
